How do I convert my height to cm by hand?
Turn the whole height into inches first, then multiply by 2.54. For 5 feet 8 inches: (5 x 12) + 8 = 68 inches, and 68 x 2.54 = 172.72 cm. For a rough mental figure, multiply the inches by 2.5 and add two per cent - 68 x 2.5 = 170, plus 2 per cent is 173.4, close enough for a form.
