Method 1: Check PNR on IRCTC Website

Go to enquiry.indianrail.gov.in/mntes/ or indianrail.gov.in

Click on "PNR Status" in the menu or navigation bar

Enter your 10-digit PNR number (found on your ticket, top-left corner)

Enter the CAPTCHA and click "Get Status"

View your booking status, coach number, berth number, and current status (CNF/WL/RAC)

You can check PNR status by sending an SMS from any mobile phone:

SMS: PNR <10-digit PNR number> to 139

What Is a PNR Number?

PNR stands for Passenger Name Record. It is a unique 10-digit number assigned to every railway ticket booked through Indian Railways (IRCTC). Tatkal Booking Guide: Tips & Tricks

Tatkal tickets are emergency quota tickets available one day before the journey date. They get sold out within minutes, so speed is crucial. Here are proven tips:

Timing: Tatkal booking opens at 10:00 AM for AC classes and 11:00 AM for non-AC classes, one day before the journey.
